I was desperate when I found Hope. I adopted a special needs dog named Murphy, a 5-year-old Maltese who had been abused, suffered a spinal injury, and was surrendered to shelter to be euthanized. I attempted to use another dog trainer before I met Hope and it was an absolute disaster. He used the old-fashioned method of negative training and within minutes, Murphy was so traumatized, he was lying on the ground, unable to walk. Thankfully, I was referred to Hope! She is teaching me how to train Murphy with positive reinforcement so he can realize his potential. With her supervision and guidance, Murphy has learned the basic commands and we continue to work on his social skills. I am extremely grateful that I was referred to Hope. She has proven there truly is HOPE FOR EVERY DOG! In addition to her expertise, Hope is a wonderful human being. I can't imagine what I would have done without her!

Considering that Rascal was an abused dog, coming from a shelter, he has come a long way and I have you to thank for that. He is so very much better with me, other dogs, and people. You really made it possible for me to enjoy and love him so much.

When we first called on you to help us with our three puppies, we didn't have "high hopes" or even high expectations. We figured life with three little dogs was bound to be a nightmare, but what a difference your training has made. We feel much more in control now. You are a kind but firm trainer and have totally connected with our dogs. They love you so much and training sessions with you are definitely their favorite time of the week!

You will be very pleased with the training you and your dog receive from Hope. From our experience, it was time and money well spent. Hope's training is very personalized. She is familiar with the temperament and needs of your breed of dog. She is able to motivate both the dog and owner to try her examples and follow through because they are easy to understand and the results you want can be achieved.

At first we signed up for group lessons that were strict and ineffective, and then we luckily found Hope. Nala, our nine-week-old Golden Retriever, was soon housebroken and let us know she needed to go out by ringing a bell at the door. Hope's style was so gentle for Nala and so easy for us to learn (even our four year old would help). With the guidance and training from Hope, our beautiful 66-pound puppy is the perfect addition to our family. We cannot thank Hope enough. She is truly amazing at what she does.

My Yorkshire terrier, Alexis, is 8 years old. She has had a terrible problem with barking at everything! She would bark if someone came to the door. She would bark when anyone would leave the house. She would hide under the bed in the morning and wait for me to turn off the light at my makeup table and then run out barking in a frenzy following me to the door. We had Hope come over for one lesson. It is amazing but that one lesson totally changed these barking habits. We are so happy and would recommend Hope to everyone! Hope, thanks for bringing back peace and quiet to our home.

I have worked with Hope Cogen of High Hopes Dog Training for three years, both personally with my own dogs and professionally with our rescue dogs. I have found her training methods both effective and compassionate. She is able to clearly identify the training issues and apply her knowledge and experience to each situation. Rather than the "one solution fits all" approach I've encountered with previous trainers, Hope tailors the process for each dog and each unique family dynamic. I never hesitate to recommend Hope or call her personally when a training issue arises, be it getting a puppy settled and trained in a new home or dealing with older rescue dogs that often come with behavioral problems from the lack of training or abuse they've encountered in their previous homes.

Hope quickly taught me techniques to help my Theo learn what I expected of him. She did this in the kindest way possible, making the bond between Theo and me that much stronger because we both knew what we were expected to do. Thanks, Hope!
